Elon Musk just revealed Starship NEW major DESIGN upgrades to reach orbit.

SpaceX just pulled off a stunning feat with its newest Starship prototype, Ship 25.
For the first time ever, the massive rocket fired up all six of its Raptor engines in one go, without any prior tests.
That’s right, no warm-ups, no rehearsals, just pure rocket power.
This is a huge milestone for SpaceX, as it shows how much confidence they have in their Starship design.
You may remember that two months ago, SpaceX launched its first Starship orbital flight, which was a historic achievement in itself.
But since then, they have been busy making over 1,000 improvements to the next version of Starship, which is now ready to take to the skies.

SpaceX took the first step towards another highly anticipated orbital test flight later this year after it conducted a static fire of the Starship second stage spacecraft yesterday.
The test was a success and SpaceX soon confirmed on its Twitter later on that the test was a success with 6 engines fired on Ship 25.
While Ship 25 does not feature many upgrades over Ship 24, its upcoming flight is certainly no less exciting as the Starship S25 introduces a range of modifications that enhance its functionality and performance.
Musk outlined some of the Starship rocket modifications in a Twitter Spaces discussion on Saturday with journalist Ashlee Vance.

Ship 25 finally Static Fire! SpaceX preps for 2nd Starship orbital flight
Can you believe it? After almost seven months of waiting, Ship 25 finally roared to life with its engines.
This is a huge milestone for the second orbital flight test and we are here to break it down for you in today’s episode of Great SpaceX!
But first, let’s have some fun and imagine what Ship 25 was thinking during the test.
Maybe something like this: “I’m alive! I’m alive! Oh, wait, I’m still attached to the ground. Bummer.”
Listen to that roar and look at all the smoke, How impressive!
Did you see that inferno and that plume of smoke? That was awesome!
An hour later, SpaceX confirmed that “Ship 25 did a six-engine static fire test at Starbase in Texas”.
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk also confirmed the test: ” Looks good so far” and said: “Key milestone completed for flight 2”

All six of the Raptor engines on SpaceX’s Ship 25 vehicle roared for a few seconds on Monday at 7:26 p.m. EDT (2130 GMT) at Starbase, the company’s South Texas facility.
The “static fire” test was another milestone for Ship 25, which is expected to do the Starship program’s next orbital test flight in the next few months.
The static fire was short but sweet, with a small fireball in the center and then a big one from the outer.

Continuing to break barriers and challenge the status quo, Musk recently unveiled groundbreaking changes that are set to revolutionize SpaceX’s Starship, the company’s colossal spacecraft designed for ambitious missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. The extent of the changes being made to the Starship is nothing short of revolutionary. With an unwavering determination to address the challenges posed by long-duration space journeys, Musk and his team of brilliant engineers have reimagined key aspects of the spacecraft’s design and functionality. Their objective? To enhance reliability, efficiency, and ultimately, to make humanity a multi-planetary species.

SpaceX Is Making HUGE Changes To Starship
The evolution of SpaceX’s Starship is indeed taking place at the Boca Chica facility. Construction of the Starship Factory has entered a new phase, indicating significant progress in the development of the Starship spacecraft. This advancement has garnered attention and sparked excitement in the space industry. Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX, has made noteworthy comments regarding the future of the Starship platform. On May 13th, Musk acknowledged the development of a third variant of the SpaceX Raptor engine. He revealed that the Raptor V3 engine had undergone a successful test firing, demonstrating improved performance compared to its predecessor, the Raptor V2. The Raptor V3 achieved a remarkable 350 bar of pressure and 269 tons of thrust, surpassing the capabilities of previous engines. The rationale behind the development of even stronger engines lies in SpaceX’s plans to launch significantly heavier payloads into orbit.

Musk confirmed this hypothesis on May 24th, responding to a comparison video between Starship and the Soviet N1 rocket. He stated that Starship’s payload capacity in its expendable mode is expected to be between 250 and 300 tons to orbit. This payload capacity is much higher than the current rating of 150 tons for fully reusable configurations. To enable the increased payload capacity, the improved thrust of the Raptor V3 engine is crucial. SpaceX could potentially transport heavier objects such as larger station parts, bigger scientific equipment, and specialized Starship variants like fuel-filled versions for use as floating gas stations or longer-duration habitation modules. These advancements also have relevance to future lunar missions, such as NASA’s Artemis program. SpaceX’s ability to transport extra fuel for the Artemis 3 lunar lander could provide additional flexibility and options for the mission’s success. Considering the timeline, the Starship Lander for Artemis 3 is scheduled to launch in 2025. This tight deadline means that SpaceX has limited time to not only make the Starship operational but also develop a variant specifically for the lunar landing. Prototype parts for the lunar lander should be under development soon, as SpaceX aims to meet the ambitious schedule set by NASA.

SpaceX’s Starship is not currently slated to be the lander for NASA’s Artemis 3 lunar mission, it is true that Starship has been proposed as a potential lunar lander option for future Artemis missions. If Starship were to be selected for Artemis 3 or subsequent missions, the upgrades you mentioned would indeed offer several advantages for crewed lunar surface operations.
