Elon Musk’s Optimus Humanoid Robot Is Finally Currently Prepared!

Tesla’s Optimus humanoid robot design was basically a human within a robot suit when it was originally revealed in 2021. Elon Musk, the founder and CEO of Tesla, unveiled two humanoid robot prototypes in 2022, both of which were quite authentic.
At Tesla AI Day 2022, the first, Bumble C, approached the podium as if it were attempting to sidestep waking a sleeping child. Musk informed the audience that evening on stage was the initial time Bumble C has ever before walked without a cord, though he and his team didn’t wish to take the chance of Bumble C falling on its face. Of course, the robot could do more, Musk noted.
The true star of the show, however, was Optimus, who was initially seen dressed as a contemporary version of an medieval knight. It was propelled out onto the stage because it was unable to walk, where it waved to the crowd and performed a speedy dance move while perched on a platform. The prototype model, according to Musk, is “fairly close” to the ultimate product. Likewise, he claimed that it would one day help many people and assist millions of people.
While he was awed with what Tesla engineers were able to achieve in an year, Alexander Kernbaum, interim director of SRI International’s Robotics Research Center, the research center that developed the humanoid robot Proxi, informed Built In that he was slightly let down by the Bumble C and Optimus demonstrations.
He said that it appeared that the “off-the-shelf” technology used by Bumble C, the robot that truly walked, was intended to give the controls team a head start. However, given the difficulty and length of time required to debug hardware, it is not surprising that the more recent prototype, Optimus, didn’t function properly.
The prototypes are not as amazing in terms of movement as other humanoid robots from companies like other companies, like Boston Dynamics, that can perform parkour, according to Carlotta Berry, a professor of electrical and computer engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Indiana.
Tesla’s Humanoid Robot: What is Known About It
About the humanoid robot being developed by Tesla, we don’t know a lot, including when it will be available. However, we already know it’s an robot, which is perhaps the most crucial fact at this time.
At the presentation in September, 2022, Musk dropped several hints, telling the audience that the Tesla robot “is designed to be a highly capable robot” with production units possibly in the millions. The public would also be able to purchase it for a reasonable price between 2025 and 2027.
At the ceremony, Musk remarked, “It is expected to cost much less than a car.” During the occasion, he also said, “Within three to five years, you could probably receive an Optimus.”
