Elon Musk has given the green light for the test flight of Starship, the most powerful rocket ever built. The rocket is designed to transport astronauts to the Moon and Mars and has already been selected by NASA for its return to the lunar surface. Starship now sits on the launchpad at SpaceX’s spaceport in Texas and is due to launch anytime from 2:28 pm UK time. The mission was previously delayed due to fuelling issues caused by a frozen valve during the initial launch attempt on Monday. Managing expectations for this first launch, Musk aimed to avoid destroying the launchpad. The Starship rocket has been chosen by NASA for its 2025, Artemis III Moon mission, which will mark the first time humans land on the Moon since the 1972 Apollo programme.
