SpaceX is soaring to new heights!
In only 5 days, it completed “propellant load tests” of not only one but two Starship Super Heavy rocket prototypes, identified as Booster nine and Booster ten.
The upgraded Super Heavy Starship booster performed flawlessly during its test on the OLM, showcasing remarkably smooth progress. Just check out at how full those tanks Booster nine are though. It’s really a great sight! Rarely do we see this much load during cryo testing.
Note that this is the first time a vehicle has been loaded on the launch site since Booster 7’s launch.
A “propellant load test” is a crucial step in the development and testing process of the stainless-steel rocket. During this test, the rocket’s tanks were filled with the propellants that it will use during its flight.
The spacecraft is equipped with thirty-three Raptor V2 engines which are fueled by a combination of cryogenic liquid methane (CH4) and liquid oxygen (LOX), also known as ‘Methalox.’
