What SpaceX is Doing at Starbase is Crazy! Ship stacking, Stage 0 Upgrade ….

SpaceX’s Starbase can be regarded as the most bustling construction site in the world these days. Watching the team work tirelessly for just an hour may leave your eyes in awe. Let’s take a moment to appreciate their current progress as well as what the future holds for the aerospace industry.
Let’s start at the production site:
Booster 11’s CH4 tank has begun stacking in the Megabay, and Ship 29’s nosecone stack was lifted to join in on the fun.
The latest discovered prototypes of the current Starship are Ship 34 and Booster 15.
For all this to be done quickly in the future, SpaceX’s new building is also rapidly taking shape with the supporting beams for the Bay’s outer skin being installed last Friday.
Indeed, it is time to lay the 24/7 combo to rest and send them off to Valhalla.
In the meantime, SpaceX has temporary and intermittent road delays from 10 pm Today until 2 am tomorrow.
This should be due to Ship 27’s test over at Massey’s or Ship 25 returning. Perhaps S26 is leaving the engine installation stand?
There are no confirmations, so we’ll need to wait and see!

SpaceX is rapidly advancing its Starship project. But even as Starship takes shape, plans for a more advanced version, Starship 2.0, are being discussed. Starship 2.0 would be a colossal upgrade, potentially measuring 18 meters in diameter, which is twice the size of the current Starship.
If this increase in size were to extend to the spacecraft’s height, the proposed Starship 2.0 would have eight times the surface area and eight times the fuel tank volume of the original. This growth would mean needing about eight times the thrust, leading to a spacecraft that could be roughly eight times heavier than the current Starship.
To manage this increased size and weight, SpaceX would need to implement significant enhancements to the spacecraft’s engines, materials, and overall design. These modifications could involve new propulsion technologies, advanced lightweight materials, and more efficient fuel storage methods.
Size isn’t the sole factor when considering the potential improvements in Starship 2.0. Musk’s indication that the new Starship will be “better” opens up a wide spectrum of possibilities.

SpaceX has continually refined its engine technology, so we can anticipate even more advanced engines in Starship 2.0, perhaps providing greater thrust or fuel efficiency. Starship successfully lifted off from the orbital launch pad for the first time. The vehicle cleared the pad and beach as Starship climbed to an apogee of ~39 km over the Gulf of Mexico – the highest of any Starship to-date. The vehicle experienced multiple engines out during the flight test, lost altitude, and began to tumble. The flight termination system was commanded on both the booster and ship. As is standard procedure, the pad and surrounding area was cleared well in advance of the test, and we expect the road and beach near the pad to remain closed until tomorrow.

With a test like this, success comes from what we learn, and we learned a tremendous amount about the vehicle and ground systems today that will help us improve on future flights of Starship.
