Tesla’s Optimus humanoid robot design was basically a human within a robot suit when it was originally revealed in 2021. Elon Musk, the founder and CEO of Tesla, unveiled two humanoid robot prototypes in 2022, both of which were quite authentic.

At Tesla AI Day 2022, the first, Bumble C, approached the podium as if it were attempting to sidestep waking a sleeping child. Musk informed the audience that evening on stage was the initial time Bumble C has ever before walked without a cord, though he and his team didn’t wish to take the chance of Bumble C falling on its face. Of course, the robot could do more, Musk noted.

The true star of the show, however, was Optimus, who was initially seen dressed as a contemporary version of an medieval knight. Tesla’s Humanoid Robot: What is Known About It

About the humanoid robot being developed by Tesla, we don’t know a lot, including when it will be available. However, we already know it’s an robot, which is perhaps the most crucial fact at this time.

At the presentation in September, 2022, Musk dropped several hints, telling the audience that the Tesla robot “is designed to be a highly capable robot” with production units possibly in the millions. The public would also be able to purchase it for a reasonable price between 2025 and 2027.
